ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts discussed in this book. The book talks about building rapport and trust with students. It discusses concepts of crisis de-escalation, specifically elements of finding a calm and balanced stance in the face of a difficult situation. The Behavior Interventions Teams (BITs) in the country also monitor faculty and staff behavior. If a school does not use the BIT to monitor this behavior, they would use someone in human resources. Whether the threat or concerning behavior is coming from a student, faculty, or staff member, there is a requirement to share that information with human resources or the BIT for further assessment and intervention. When people are scared, afraid, or worried about managing an out of control situation, staffs have found that their help is more effective when the person receiving the information is more relaxed and comfortable.
