ABSTRACT

Group Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) now has a robust evidence base showing benefits to both cognition and quality of life. This chapter describes both the original CST trial and the maintenance CST trial, which illustrated the long-term benefits of the intervention over six months. The evidence from this research has had both a national and international impact, featuring in the UK National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines, and also the Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) recommendations.
