ABSTRACT

The Law Project for Psychiatric Rights (PsychRights.Org) is a public interest law firm whose mission is to mount a strategic legal campaign against forced psychiatric drugging and electroshock in the United States. That, akin to what Thurgood Marshall and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) mounted in the 1940s and 1950s on behalf of African-American civil rights. Organized psychiatry, aided and abetted by Big Pharma, has occupied the field of language to the point where it is almost impossible to discuss the issues without resort to this biased language. PsychRights' education effort includes a large number of channels as described below and while the content is tailored for each audience, there are three main foci of the information. PsychRights teaches that psychiatric drugs are very harmful without any real benefit for most of the people taking them. People have been given hope and found a way out of psychiatry.
