ABSTRACT
This chapter will discuss the epidemiologic and statistical concepts that are of importance in conducting a successful genetic association study. These concepts are used in the design, execution, analysis, and interpretation phases. The information contained in this chapter is not meant to be a substitute for having an epidemiologist or biostatistician in the research team, but to allow fruitful interactions among the members of research teams.
