ABSTRACT
Yeovil Family Centre is an integrated family centre receiving funding from National Children’s Home (NCH) Action for Children, Social Services, Somerset Education Services and the Health Authority. The staff consists of a Project Manger, an administrator, three project workers, a specialist social worker and a sessional worker. Make Your Experience Count is one of the community education groups and is an integral part of the work provided in the Family Centre offering a good platform for consumers at the centre to move on. The group choice ensures that the course reflects the group members needs and that their expectations will be met. The groups run at the schools, except for the toy library, are exclusively for families linked to the school. Evaluation and feedback from the schools and the consumers has been very positive and has been shown through new groups starting as people refer themselves because they have seen the outcomes for previous members.
