ABSTRACT

In the computer software development industry, there is a popular project management approach known as "Agile". It helps programmers as they build and refine software to emphasize collaboration and continual learning. The user stories make Agile developers more aware of important functional elements for the software before it's complete, affording them the opportunity to incrementally improve it. The purpose of a user story in Agile is to encourage collaboration. Empowered by read-write internet connectivity, news consumers too are "users" who can react, respond, organize into groups and publish their own stories about what they want and why. Citizen-to-citizen deliberation in the public sphere has the power to generate and mobilize public opinion, which in turn can shape the policies of the state and the development of society as a whole. Mainstream news organizations have traditionally occupied two important roles in contributing to a dynamic public sphere.
