ABSTRACT

This chapter analyses the specificity of how small business, as one sector of the Russian economy, is influenced by global economic processes. It deals, on the one hand, with the forms of involvement of small business in the international economy, on the other with aspects of disjuncture between them. The forms of small business' interaction with and the extent of its integration into globalization can be approached by examining it from the point of view of global processes, on one hand, and domestic factors on the other. Investment flows International integration is conducted through the flow of capital, including direct and portfolio investments, into business-friendly zones. The Russian economy is still in the process of switching over to the market. This is especially true with regard to the behavioral habits and norms of businessmen. Organizations set up by businessmen are components of public life.
