ABSTRACT

Let's be honest, being live creates many opportunities for failure. Just because it's live it doesn't mean that it can be completely raw. Unfortunately, when a brand or individual fails, it's often because of a lack of planning. In fact, because we have no second chance, there is even more need to have a strategy. Viewers may be more likely to take legal notes from a smartly dressed presenter sitting in an office than one wearing a Hawaiian shirt on the beach. So, think of the visuals: a show about cooking presented from a kitchen with stainless steel and boiling pans, rather than from our bedroom. Think televisually: reporters don't talk with a white screen or a brick wall behind them. They have something visually interesting and appropriate alongside them. In short, if a location or backdrop is incongruous with our content, it may undermine our authority.
