ABSTRACT

It's easy to get caught up in the moment when we are presenting on a live-video. This chapter covers the considerations to have when we are in mid-flow. If we don't interact, we are ignoring the 'live' and 'personal' aspects of streaming. That may reduce the benefit of someone watching. Have the viewers confirm that they have a problem, to give permission to help resolve it. Remember that most people will watch with the sound down and for less than 30 seconds. So make sure that what we show is visually captivating. We need to improve our 'retention rate'. In other words, keep viewers watching for longer. The focus will come from our preparation. Having some bullet points to hand will help us keep on track during our show. One of the huge advantages of Facebook Live and Twitter Go Live/Periscope over the purely desktop-based video-streams is that we can take them (almost) anywhere and show people anything.
