ABSTRACT

The basic unit is often used to reduce the noise of a certain frequency or a certain frequency segment. In this paper, an acoustic finite element analysis is carried out on the transmission loss of the muffler, such as the expansion ratio of the muffler, the inner tube, the number of the expansion chamber and so on. HyperMesh divides the mesh of mufflers inner region, defining acoustic grid, posting treatment and calculates the muffler transmission loss. Through such methods, we can get the effect of the muffler transmission loss under the circumstance of the different basic unit of muffler.
