ABSTRACT

Reliability improvement of the diesel engine is a systematic and probabilistic assessment that needs a large amount of useful reliability data for this study. Collected diesel engine failure records are taken as data samples, and then the two-parameter Weibull distribution fitting model is used for failure mileage distribution. The parameters are estimated by using the linear regression and maximum likelihood estimation methods, and the parameters are verified to come to an agreement with the collected data of the Weibull model.
