ABSTRACT

A high performance triple-mode oscillator based on 0.25 um BCD process is presented in this paper. The conventional ring structure with mode control modules is adopted to produce a ramp signal and square wave. As the simulation results show, under the temperatures of −55°C–125°C, the output frequency varies from 485.9 KHz to 512 KHz in the master mode, with a maximum change rate of 2.82%. In the resistance adjustment mode, the adjustable range is 13.4 KHz–2.78 MHz. In the synchronisation mode, the synchronous frequency covers from 15 KHz to 4.2 MHz. An oscillator with great performance has thus been successfully applied in a DC-DC converter circuit.
