ABSTRACT

A key problem of production management in missile general assembly workshops is production scheduling. In this paper, the missile general assembly process was investigated. Network planning was introduced to describe the complex production process and express the logical relationship between working procedures and processing units. An optimising mathematical model was established in which the production sequence was the constraint, and the minimum flow time and waiting time of all units was the target. The genetic algorithm was applied to solve the model. Finally, the Plant-simulation software was used to simulate the production scheduling and to show the working procedure. The simulation demonstrated that the method proposed in this paper was helpful for making decisions about reasonable production arrangements and to enhance the productive efficiency.
