ABSTRACT

According to the characteristics of multi-standard wireless communication systems, a new type of single-input and dual-input reconfigurable pipelined Analogue to Digital Converter (ADC) were designed. The single-input reconfigurable ADC can be achieved by shutting down sub-stages gradually, and its systematic index is 8–14 bit without deteriorating other performance aspects. It can also reduce the power consumption of the system. The dual-input ADC can acquire two input signals simultaneously and be extended to more input signals as needed. It was achieved by external control logics and algorithm adjustment in digital correction. The proposed architecture can achieve a distribution of 14-bit precision: 7b+8b and 5b+10b respectively. Both reconfigurable pipelined ADCs were designed in Simulink models and the simulation were implemented.
