ABSTRACT

On-Line Electric Vehicle (OLEV) is a dramatic scheme with infinite cruising ability by charging along its way using Wireless Power Transfer (WPT). There will be the possibility to lay the electric cables of the supply rails and ultra-high voltage transmission lines closely parallel to each other in a confined space. Just because of this sharing of the passageway, the transmission lines aerially may induce volts on the electric cables and supply rails setting in the same gallery and they can also result in more acute disadvantageous reactions. This paper studies reasonable impacts of the transmission line conductors, Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic field, induced volts, and Electro Magnetic Field (EMF) exposure on the WPT charging system for OLEV by the ultra-high voltage transmission lines. A pedestrian with metallic implants is considered in this paper. The EMF is computed using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) method, and by comparing with the values given by International Committee on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) guidelines, the degree of influence can be judged.
