ABSTRACT

In a power line inspection system, obstacle avoidance is an urgent problem which needs to be solved when an unmanned helicopter flying at low altitude which will threat the flying safety with complex background. Aiming at this problem, this paper presents a high-voltage power line detection scheme, using MMV broadband LFM technology. In the obstacle avoidance system, we focus on the signal accumulation technology of a small target, CFAR technique and polarisation detection. Based on the theoretical analysis A system simulation was done and the radar based on obstacle detection system was developed. The flight test results show that this method is effective.
