ABSTRACT

The ultimate goal of therapy, and then also the aim of this therapeutic intervention model, is to help clients (survivors) identify, address and change the problems that brought them into treatment. This implies that the survivor and therapist are at a starting point where the therapeutic intervention model can be implemented as at this point CSA is already identified. The initial stage of therapy can be managed in a way congruent to the therapist’s general practice of initiating therapy, where the first and most crucial step is the establishing of a therapeutic relationship. During this stage, in the context of this therapeutic intervention, the therapist also ensures the safety of the survivor, explains the structure and rationale of the therapeutic intervention model, completes the ITNISSA with the survivor and works with the written life history of the survivor.
