ABSTRACT
The Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) has as its goal to strengthen laboratories serving the public’s health and providing information for individual public health laboratories to use in improving their services to the public. By promoting effective programs and public policy, APHL strives to provide public health laboratories with the resources required to protect the health of U.S. residents and 194to prevent and control disease globally. APHL’s core membership is comprised of public health, environmental, and agricultural laboratories. Representatives from federal agencies, nonprofit organizations, corporations, and interested individuals also participate in the association. There is expanding international participation due to the globalization of disease.
