ABSTRACT
This rhyming and counting book is illustrated with brilliantly and vividly colored fish on a dark blue background. The narrow rectangular shape of the book accentuates the depictions of fish that extend onto two-page spreads. One green fish, two jumping fish, three smiling fish . . . keep the count going. Also, the vibrant fish have cutout circle eyes that draw the reader into the journey through rivers and seas. A small, dark fish flits playfully across the pages saying, “Follow me” to create the “one more than” concept of addition. This is an eye-catching and fun read for counting and adding “one more than” in typical Ehlert fashion.
