ABSTRACT

Where’s 11? Is it missing? 12 Ways to Get to 11 is a whimsical romp about 12 creative ways to get to 11. Each double-page spread consists of brightly colored cutouts of objects such as “Three sets of triplets in baby carriages and a pair of twins in the stroller” and “In the mailbox: seven letters, two packages, a mail-order catalog, and a picture postcard” that are combinations that total 11. The readers must supply the numbers for the addition sentence and add them up for a total. The sum is always 11. Some combinations are more challenging than others for an amusing counting adventure.
