ABSTRACT

Today we finished taking on water and provisions and when the astronomical instruments to be used in Macau had been brought on board, there was nothing to delay our departure except the delivery from the Cavite dockyard of an anchor, bought from the Real Compañía de Filipinas, with another for the Descubierta. They arrived in the afternoon, but without the stocks. Ours weighed nineteen quintales and immediately we attached the stock of the fourth anchor to it, so as to have two reliable small bower anchors ready for use.
