In the business of online series, creators often have to wear many different hats: producer, director, actor, cinematographer and, of course, screenwriter. There are, however, aspects of the process that aren’t so much creative as necessary. Filmmaking is by nature collaborative, and a finished work can have many different authors. Because authorship comes with a specific set of rights, it is extremely important to educate yourself about the legal issues that may affect your work even before you create it.
