ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the leadership deficiencies that are causing employees to flee their bosses. It explores nonstick leaders Teflon leaders. Passion is a strong feeling of enthusiasm about or for something. A good boss needs to be passionate about his job all day long if he wants his employees to feel the same and give their best performance. Micromanagement is a costly management style that causes stress and employee dissatisfaction and stifles innovation, which ultimately impacts productivity and results in high employee turnover. Not all employees will depart as a result of fear-based leadership. Some people think that employee turnover is simply part of the cost of doing business. The true cost of replacing an employee varies by company and position. Employees who have announced their resignation have already begun to transition out of the company. Because new employees do not enter a job completely proficient, it will take time before they are fully productive.
