ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on what influence is and explores the relationship between influence and magnetic leadership. Influence is asking for something people need in a way that allows the other person to say yes. Many people mistakenly believe that when a person uses influence, he is trying to manipulate another. The chapter discusses the connection between strong relationships and magnetism. The key is the trusting relationship that leaders like Castaneda and others have built with their team. One of the most important parts of the job as a leader is to get the people the resources they need to do their jobs effectively. Trust is also a huge factor when working with clients. There are times when use of empathy can help to move someone to the side. Magnetism enables to build a community of consultants that spans the globe.
