ABSTRACT
Michael stares intently at the LCD screen of a handheld video camera. 1 His rigid posture and stern expression speak to the intensity of his engagement. He squints his eyes to see the video image as it plays, presses the pause button with his left hand, then furiously scribbles on the scratch pad next to him with his right: “Here’s the thing about being gay …” He labels this quote “A” to indicate it should go in the section of the video called “coming out stories.” The face on the screen is his own.
