ABSTRACT
T he Paralympic Games showcase elite-level athletes with disabil-ities. Incorporating the same ideology as the Olympic Games in celebrating the accomplishments of elite international athletes, the Paralympic Games are scheduled approximately two weeks later than the Olympic Games in the same cities and venues, and are staged by the same organizing committee. When a host city is awarded the Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games are an obligatory part of the host city bid process.
