ABSTRACT

I was walking through Zenith Media’s global headquarters in New York City with a colleague who worked for another company within Publicis Groupe. I had recently moved into my role as CEO of Performics and was making a point to spend more informal time with peers, given that most of them were men and I had noticed the collegial strength of their relationships. Their informal interactions clearly indicated they were quite comfortable working together. I rarely engaged informally with them-but then, I was seldom invited. Yet, I knew I had to make a point to create informal interactions, because it was unlikely interactions would happen at all if I didn’t.
