ABSTRACT

When Rob Lux, CIO of Freddie Mac, was in high school, he was in a computer club in which members built computers. One day, a man from Microsoft, which was known at the time for DOS and BASIC, paid the club a visit. “This guy from Microsoft comes out to our little computer club and talks about this new product they’re going to be delivering called Windows,” says Lux. “He’s all excited about it and shows us a demo, and it was horrible.”
