ABSTRACT

Here, I explain my first argument for No Temporal Well-Being, namely The Normative Significance Argument. According to this argument, 1) well-being is necessarily intrinsically normatively significant (SNOG), and 2) only lifetime well-being (among different possible kinds of well-being) is intrinsically normatively significant (SSLW). I offer seven arguments for SSLW. I then respond to six objections to SSLW. I then consider an objection to SNOG. Finally, I consider an objection to the structure of the argument itself.
