ABSTRACT

The event organiser must also demonstrate professionalism and instil confidence. And, whilst performing all these skills and functions, the client is now alongside to observe and interject. Alcohol, sociality and events go together, and too many times an event organiser gets caught on one side of the triangle or another, while not maintaining an anchored position between being social, ensuring others are enjoying themselves, and retaining professionalism. One of the key elements is to check the client is satisfied. This is a constant check throughout the day of the event. But, this does not mean having to ask the client to establish their satisfaction – this would get annoying. The event organiser will be positioned at the front door to check that the flow of guests and the entry procedures are working effectively.
