ABSTRACT

Real flexible manufacturing systems that allow not only a limited flexibility but also a great variety of products and technology can only be set up with the integration or combination of computer aided design and manufacturing systems. That is why the introduction of CAD/CAM in Hungary is considered to be an important stage, a precondition of the formation of highly integrated flexible manufacturing systems. The number of recent applications of CAD/CAM, counting also those of experimental character and those now being introduced can be not more than two dozens, but CAD/CAM in the real sense of the word can hardly be found in Hungary. The evaluation of the set-up of workplaces was carried out with the help of an expert checklist and with help of questionnaire through which we enquired the opinion of workers in the workplaces. It is a general experience that financial management of companies underestimate the importance of setting up suitable workplaces for those working in CAD.
