ABSTRACT

The main aspect of a tissue culture laboratory is the maintenance of aseptic working environment so as to avoid the contamination of growing cultures with microorganisms like bacteria, fungi, and their spores. The tissue culture laboratory has been divided into different work areas viz. (1) general laboratory comprising a washing area and a preparation area and (2) a clean, sterile laboratory comprising an inoculation room, also called as a transfer room and a culture room. The plant tissue culture techniques are set of experimental procedures, performed by various researchers, to grow a large number of cells or tissues under sterile and controlled growth conditions with certain objectives. These experiments essentially require a well-organized and well-equipped laboratory.
