ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the use of the ISO 13482 standard as a useful reference for the risk assessment of a robot sweeper. This kind of service robot does not fall under the realm of ISO 13482; nevertheless, it fits the speed and weight of robot categories to which the standard applies. In the absence of an applicable standard, it has acted as a useful guide. The chapter presents the chosen methodology and all of the steps performed in detail, with a practical approach.
