ABSTRACT
Verification and validation are integral processes in software quality assurance. Simply stated, verification is the assurance of technical correctness; validation is the assurance of customer acceptance. Methods, techniques, and tools are needed for the comprehensive and systematic verification and validation of rulebased expert systems; however, current expert system technology has no such methods, techniques, or tools.
