ABSTRACT
The taxonomy of digital filters presented in Fig. 1.9 in Chapter 1 essentially divided these filters into the following subgroups:
• recursive versus nonrecursive filters; • smooth (Volterra) filters versus non-smooth (e.g., median) filters; • linear filters, which intersect all of these other classes.
