ABSTRACT

This workshop presents communication skills critical to building positive relationships with customers. Businesses need to step into their customers' worlds and relate to them on a human as well as a business level. In today's fast-paced business environment of rapidly changing market needs, it is becoming increasingly difficult to cultivate personal relationships with customers. The attitude of "what have you done for me lately" requires that businesses not only meet their customers' needs but anticipate them as well. Customers are lost when they perceive that businesses are more concerned with their own agendas than with customer satisfaction. In most cases, the root cause of this negative perception is poor communication. Customers want to be shown they are cared about. Unfortunately, they often learn to believe othenvise. Businesses need to develop a true sense of purpose in order to step into their customers' worlds and relate to them on a human as well as a business level.
