ABSTRACT
The human need to communicate with peers at any time and in any place around the world is behind the many technological advances in communications systems in the past decade. However this simple need has put many requirements and constraints on engineers designing such systems. This chapter discusses the effects of these technological advances on the device that is the heart of these systems, the digital signal processor, or more commonly known as the DSP. This chapter addresses the design of DSPs for wireless applications.
