ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces a stable, fully distributed, multiagent-based solution. It explores a consensus-based global information discovery algorithm and shows that the algorithm is applied to load management. According to the fully distributed solution, calculation and distribution of global information are achieved through an average-consensus-based information discovery algorithm. The proposed algorithm can be applied to power systems with capability for plug-and-play operation. The chapter proposes stable multiagent systems (MAS) based load management algorithm is for microgrids based on the average consensus theorem. The smart grid is the electric delivery network integrated with the latest advances in digital and information technology to improve the electric system's reliability, efficiency, security, and resiliency. In artificial intelligence, agent-based technology has been hailed as a promising paradigm for conceptualizing, designing, and implementing software systems. MAS-based solutions have been proposed for power system reconfiguration and restoration. The information discovery algorithm is used to discover net active power and load connection information.
