ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to design the controller which is assumed to be with additive gain variations of the interval type. It considers the full parameterized and sparse structured controllers, respectively. The structured vertex separator method can significantly reduce the number of linear matrix inequality constraints involved in the design conditions. The contribution of this method is that it not only reduces the number of nontrivial parameters but also designs the sparse structured controllers with non-fragility. The controller to be designed is assumed to be with the additive gain variations of interval type, which are due to the finite word length effects when the controller is implemented. For the full parameterized controller design problem, the chapter also considers the discretetime and continuous-time systems, respectively.
