ABSTRACT
Published standards are necessary for worldwide trading, business practices, production of goods, manufacturing, scientic investigations, and research and development. They ensure consistency in implementation and interpenetration of different technologies in different organizations and sectors. Because of the national and international implications, there are many institutions that are responsible for developing, investigating, and maintaining the relevant standards to support worldwide scientic, commercial, and industrial activities.
