ABSTRACT
Industrial control systems (ICS) are systems of systems. An ICS facilitates a physical outcome unlike an ofce environment, where the information technology (IT) is the end product. An ICS relies upon customized, embedded, singlepurpose computers. These computers typically use older, less complex operating systems and have signicant longer lifetimes.
