ABSTRACT
The pharmaceutical industry has a demanding set of requirements for process automation (PA). These requirements derive from the need for safe, pure, and effective medicines. Any implementation must also satisfy an extensive set of government regulations. Proper design and implementation of automation systems help to ensure a safe, predictable, high-quality, and low-cost supply of medication.
