ABSTRACT

The Xstrata Nickel Rim South (NRS) mine is located northeast of Sudbury on the eastern rim of the Sudbury basin. Initially discovered in 2001, the conrmed resource has grown to 17.4 million tons. This is roughly evenly split between a contact zone containing 2% Nickel and a footwall zone containing 5% copper and high in precious metals. A view of the mine-site is shown in Figure 55.1.
