ABSTRACT

Butene (C4H8) is a hydrocarbon belonging to the class of  alkenes (CnH2n) and there are three isomers: 1-butene (also called α-butylene), 2-butene (also called β-butylene), and isobutene (also called isobutylene) (Sharp, 2003). There are six gases having the same chemical formula each with 32 electrons. The electronic polarizability (αe), dipole moment (D), and ionization energy (εi) are shown Table 120.1.
