ABSTRACT

A satellite is any smaller object traveling around a larger object. Using satellites for medical purposes, telemedicine; for training and educating employees and students in remote areas, e-learning, distance learning, or distance education; and providing farmers with useful information to optimize their products, are only a few of benefits. Each satellite moves within a predetermined path in space above the Earth’s atmosphere which is called orbit. QuickBird is one of the world’s highest-resolution commercial satellites. Satellites providing Fixed-satellite services transmit radio communications between ground Earth stations at fixed locations. Satellite-transmitted information is carried in the form of radio-frequency signals. Many of the satellite services are provided through the network to businesses, home users, and institutions. The Earth station design consists of the Transmission Link Design, or Link Budget, and the Transmission System Design. The satellite Link Budget establishes the resources needed for a given service to achieve the performance objectives.
