ABSTRACT
Light wave has several properties such as wavelength, frequency, phase, polarization, energy, etc. The most widely used in this „eld is referred to as the communicative function such as optical measurement and optical communication. On the other hand, the light wave does not have any signi„cant use in the area of energy function apart from laser processing. Since the research „eld of the optomechatronics is likely to grow, we consider that it is important to develop neither the research nor the development in the „eld of energy application of light. Some trials are ongoing to develop optical actuators and manipulators that assume light to be the driving energy. They convert photonics energy to mechanical motion. This section introduces the features of optical actuation and manipulation.
