ABSTRACT

As described in Chapters 2 and 3, the designs based on the fundamental principles of mode-locked lasers have been demonstrated experimentally in three types of mode-locked lasers, namely, harmonic, rational harmonic, and regenerative, for the generation of short repetitive pulse trains. However, the simulation of the generation of mode-locked pulses is essential to con›rm with those pulse trains observed in experiments. Furthermore, a simulation package would allow a detailed design and analysis of the dynamic behavior of such lasers. Thus, this chapter presents the development of the simulation software package and simulated results.
