ABSTRACT

The logic of computer arithmetic constitutes the foundation of computer architecture and logic design. In the first part of this chapter we study the fundamentals of digital computer arithmetic. We start by studying some systems of representation of numbers and follow them by methods for effecting basic computer arithmetic operations. Examples of the architectures of parallel processors follow. Texas Instruments TMS320C6713B Floating-PointTM

digital signal processor (DSP) is subsequently introduced, and its programming for realtime applications studied in some detail.
