ABSTRACT

In the distributed network entities environment, a message-passing distributed algorithm is needed. Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is point-to-point protocol. In this chapter, we are going to describe a Multipoint Session Initiation Protocol (MSIP). This protocol is an application-layer control (signaling) protocol for creating, modifying, and terminating sessions with one or more participants. The protocol is a signaling protocol based on distributed network entities architecture, and the use of the server is mandatory.
