The trend toward circuits with smaller sizes and voltages renders modern electronics highly susceptible to damage from high power electromagnetic sources. Radio frequency (RF) communication systems are particularly vulnerable because the antenna provides a direct port of entry for electromagnetic radiation. The threats to civil society posed by such weapons are viewed as a grim but real possibility in the post September 11 world [1-3].
